Easiest? LT1 by far.

Cheapest? LT1 by far.

The LS1 is a superior engine, especially once you start modifying it. But parts cost more for an LS1, and there is a LOT of work to do with an LS1 swap that you don't have to worry about with an LT1.

I'm speaking from a knowledge base of Firebirds and Camaros, but the s10 line has always shared a lot of parts with those cars, so I think it's still pretty applicable.

what extra work?
they both need mounts.
they both need wiring
they both need fuel system mods
they both need exhaust (and you can buy headers for both)

where is the work diffrent?

I would sell the LT1 and put the LS1 in. Do you plan on modding the engine much at all? Like stated earlier, LS1 respond better to bolt-ons and generally H/C combos as well.
