I'm still not positive, but I dunno if these'll fit with S&P style mounts... I got 2 1/2" clearance between rear of drivers-side head to firewall, a good deal more than the hooker mounts.. It's hard to tell if they'd still clear...

this is for the person that was wondering if truck accessories would clear- I think this shows it's a definate yes...

view from front to determine any height difference...

I have a set of Hooker mounts and a set of S & P style mounts. The Hooker mounts place the motor 1 3/16" further back and 3/8" higher.

Welcome to the site, and thanks. Can anyone measure the critical points (like the steering box, control arms) to see if they'd clear with the above clearance difference? I'd like to get a set of these headers in the future, possibly, but I like the s&p mounts. The hooker mounts put it too far back for my liking.

I am using an S&P oil pan. There is plenty of room to drop the engine down more and forward.

The distance from the firewall to the driver head is 1 5/8" which is lees than an inch from the S&P mounts. Here is a close shot of the #5 header tube and streering box.... there would just be enough room. I think that would be the only clearence issue.

SaweeeT! I think we've found the budget LT header for S&P, hooker, and ATS mounts.

So,
What is the verdict here with S&P motor mount adapters? Which headers? I'm kind of confused.
68red Canmaro,
Can you also pls measure the clearence to steering box on that #5 tube. Please.
Thanks

I pulled the engine out this week end.... i should be putting it back in sometime this week. I will get a pic with distance on the #5 header tube.

Glock36
Sorry to here you got a bad set. I am sure Summit will take them back and send you another set. But i think that is a good idea to call Hooker and let them know you had a problem so they can find out what happened. Let us know what they say.

68redcamaro,
Thank you. The reason I'm asking because I got the S&P mount /adapters and reading the posts that sits the engine 1" forward. So if you have more then 1" clearence between the #5 tube and steering box that would be sweet.

I put a tape measure to the#5 tube and i don't think you could move the engine more than 3/4" forward and still be safe with the streering box. If you moved it 1 inch it might touch or it would be very close.

a small dent could clear maybe, although the S&P mounts put it lower, don't they, does that adversely affect clearance? Or is that tube vertical?

S&P makes an adapter plate the puts the motor one inch further back than their original. It's in their 2006 Catalog. Same price as the others.
