I got this thing when I was 17 8 years ago (wow I'm gettin old). Car never had the original components, honestly I don't even know what happened to them. Was driving around with the 464ci "drag motor" in it and never ran into any trouble. As much as I'll drive it, cops won't bug me... I generally don't drive like ish unless a buzz bomb is thinkin they're badass and needs to be sown tail lights. The bird is already set up for drag, still need to weld in the 10pt moly cage, and do a few other things, but generally speaking, it's ready for big time power and some low ET's. Should be nice to get better than 5mpg and get the same amount of power!

Don't know yet but I'll keep you posted..that's the set up I'm running on a 04 Goat motor in a 67. Headers are awesome looking! No O2 bungs..so you gotta run them in your slip-fit reducers, but the headers do come with the lengthened O2 harnesses.

Hello, first post, this is a great thread. We are planning an LS1 T56 swap into the wifes 67RS/SS (Clone, we aren't cutting up anything original). THank you very much for all the work you put into this thread. Do you have any pics of the finished project? Thoughts about the whole thing? How does it drive?

like 67rsss asked, what are everybody's thoughts regarding the swap and finally driving their project?
and, i've only seen a couple posts about ls2's in this thread, and my question is, will an ls2 and ls2 harness and ecm work the same? thanks

LS2 is the same as far as swapping goes, only minimal changes to the wiring.
driving the car is the most fun i've had in any vehicle. it hits 80mph in about five seconds with BFG drags, it's ridiculous. it handles and brakes great with ATS spindles and z06 brakes, worlds of difference from a stock Camaro.

Can these be installed with the engine, steering box, and ATS pan installed, or does it need to be wiggled together as the engine gets dropped in?

61099 - (235) lower
61609 - (913) upper
Summit sells them too and a search for the part number gives a list of vehicles they woould fit.
The 61609 should fit GMC, Cadillac and Chevrolet. Modells are Sierra, Sierra XC, Sportvan, Vandura, Rally, Express, Savana, Brougham, Special, XT.
Engines: 4.3, 5.0, 5.7L
So that hose fits a lot of cars.
The lower hose 61609 fits Wrangler, Comanche and Cherokee from Jeep. Models are Sport, Sahara, SE, Laredo, Islander, Rio Grande and Pioneer. I think that is iwth 2.5L engines.
Years 87-93 and 95
You can search at Summit for # GTR-61609 and GTR-61099.
(Thanks for researching those, Jan!)

Just to clarify some confusion here is the info I verified.
GY # 61609 Napa # 8244 Lower hose for LS1 rad / fans
1993 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L ( upper hose )
GY# 61099 Napa # 7902 Upper hose for LS1 rad / fans
1989 GMC Safari ( mini van ) 4.3L ( upper hose )
I used the Advance auto PN# E71306 for the LS1 upper hose $8 less than Napa
But the equivalent at Advance for the LS1 lower is to stiff to make the right bend. Use the Napa hose.
Both hoses will need to be trimmed to fit, my application is a 69 Camaro.

Thanks for the pics.
Is it just me or should they fit better than that? What motor adapter plates, motor mounts, and frame brackets do you have? Seems like very poor fitment unless SW has specific plate/mount/bracket needs.
