Question 1971 Datsun 240Z hybrid? Advice Please!

I知 looking into the possibility of purchasing a 1971 Datsun 240Z to eventually be used as the recipient of a Chevy small block. LS1 or better would be ideal but at this point undecided.

The reason I知 posting is for any advice of things to look for in the 240Z. Any experiences, good, bad or ugly that you can share would be greatly appreciated.

I know these cars tend to rust around the wheel wells, but the one I知 looking at seems to be OK in that area. Any other problem areas to watch out for?

Thanks!

Floor pans

Spare tire

Battery tray

Under the rear hatch where water can gather up.

Those are the main places. You'll want to be sure to get some subframes for sure or you're going to twist it. www.hybridz.org is the place you want to go though. I've got an LQ9 swapped 240z that I'm about to have on the road soon so let me know if you have any questions.
