Seafoam and a fine Scotchbrite pad, worked at it, then gave them a final bath with hot water and soap, blew them off and let them sit in the warm sun,

Thanks for the positive comments,

I like the "set them in the warm sun" too bad wouldnt nothing dry in NC. Engine is coming together nicely. You'll be on the road before you know it. Keep up the good work!

Thats why I cleaned them on a "warmer" day, we've had some cold ones down here too,

Where's Germantown in NC, I used to live on the east coast, New Bern, I work at Fountain Boats for a short time,

Spent last night moving the Fikse around, my garage is PACKED, bikes, gocart, etc, etc, I didn't want the wheels under the car while I'm cutting on the rear pan for the tubs,

Germanton, N.C. is located about 10 miles north east from Winston-Salem. Small little town with great people. I hear ya on the garage cleanup. I spent Sunday cleaning up a heck of a mess. What did you clean your transmission with? I am fixin to clean up my engine bay and the transmission hopefully today. Thanks

The Chris Alston G Link is in and the VA should be here next Wednesday, I'll pick up both items then, but I have plenty of work to do,
1. engine torques all of them,

2. Finish rebuilding door hinges

3. Cutting for the mini Tub

4. DSE subframe connectors

all items on a dry erase board above the bench!!!!

I wished I would have mini tubbed my car while the quarters were off. How hard would it be to mini tub it now since all of my body and paint are complete? I have not really researched this but you have got my interest going now. I did buy a DSE firewall block off plate and might I add that it was of extreme quality and it was a fair price I believe. Not that I couldnt have made it myself cheaper, it was the convenience that made it worthwhile. Keep us posted with some pics as you go through this build. Thanks

I was the same boat, car was done with new outer wheel houses quarters and tail panel, I have drilled almost all the spot welds and have the inner tubs removed, tonight I'm going to cut some areas for adding the new tubs, there are lots of pics out there, if you look on Lateral G the theres a 3 page thread on doing the job, and I have a DSE DVD on the job,

Do you have to cut the factory frame rails back, do you have to cut the trunk pan any? Do you think this could be done with the car finished and the rear interior removed? I am not sure of how these fit. I just looked at DSE's website and seen they have the same inside design that the factory tubs had.

Made my own closeout templates yesterday, I think there better than the DSE ones, my carsa 68 and I think there video and templates are made from a 69,

Have one tub in place looks like everything will fit quite well, have to transfer my templates to 1/8 steel and cut them out, start welding, but I'm going to finish cutting the otherside so I can get my rearend length figured out,

Pics are in the camera,

He's pics of the cuts done to fit the tubs, and then some of the close outs made,

Here's the ECU bracket I got from Ironworks, the fit is awsome, after the VA's mocked up, I weld the bracket to the firewall inside the car,

Great job! Tubs are looking good. I will wait on tubs as a later project. I may even drive to DSE and let them do it. They are an hour away from me and its a straight shot. Good to see guys like you get in there and get it done though. Right now I am going through the motions of wanting my car streetable again. Ironworks did a great job on the bracket. I wonder if they make them out of stainless. I will check to see. I will probably leave mine in the engine bay for the time being. If I had my Vintage air setup I could go ahead and mount it inside. Again great job and keep the pics coming. I do have one question though, with the mini tubs can you retain your leaf springs or is this for the coil over setup?

DSE makes a leaf spring kit and a Quadra-link kit, I had the leaf springs all set up and then one day I took aride in the Nova, that ruined it for leaf springs, 5 mulitleafs with a set of tuned traction bars, long set, I can get 1.8 60ft times in the Nova, but it rode like a truck, horriable, so out the kit came and sold it off, I was going to DSE Q/L the car but there prone to wheel hop if you drag race or even get on it real hard, ie, dump the clutch, thats what I've been told by a couple of people, maybe there not tuned right, who know's,

Today I'll start cutting the other side, and trim for close out, I'm from work today, honor roll partys!!!

I see! Yeah mine rides a little rough but after driving a Honda Civic everyday my Camaro actually rides good. I love my Civic but its no Cadillac. My springs were too soft allowing the rear to squat the more I drove it. After several trips down the road and plenty of flogging her it squated like a little girl. After the brand new springs settled I had a leaf added to bring her back up to normal ride height. I was amazed at the drop in ride height with brand new springs. My monos didnt squat that bad. After all of that she finally rides ok. I cannot move the springs in the rear any closer towards the center due to my fuel tank so that limits me on how wide of a wheel I can use. I seen one guy on here with a Nova and he is using the old truck arms like Nascar. Simple great design but not very pleasing to the eyes. Go ahead and buy the drop in 4 link or better yet get you an IRS setup.

Chris Alston G-Link with Double adjustable coilover shocks,

DSE coilover front conversion, both equal adjustable ride height,

IRS give no room for tailpipes and I want mine like stock,

you can always get a Ricks tank, I've seen them cheap,

If you watch the for sale adds of Pro-touring and lateral G you can part together a mini tub system,
