Default started detailing the ls1

i decided to start detailing a few things this week,i did the intake in silver frost pearl, sanded the grain out of it first with 180 dry then wetsanded it with 600 then primed and painted.i think im gone to do a few other items like dipstick and things the same color.I put the fuel rail covers back on with the red lettering, but i have chrome letters for it,i only a half hour this morning before work to put it back together since i painted last night so after work ill finish the lettering i like the chrome better.I didnt realize youd would see the red under it a bit but for now ill leave it and paint them black and then the chrome over it,kind of gives it an accent to it. It so nice to work on these motors,5 minutes i had it apart and 15 minutes to get back togther with being careful i didnt chip it.

Actually that "accent" looks pretty good (the red behind the chrome), only problem is it may not go with the total color theme of the car, but if you had a Z06 then it would match the red on that logo... Do you have anything red on the car?

Pat, looks good. I might have to paint my intake, now. How is your fuel line connected to the fuel rail?

i made my own brackets for the power steering pump and made a bracket to mount off the alternator for the resovoir(sp) and used the a/c drive to run the belt.I can take those 2 letters off and paint the red and put the chrome back on tonight.Raisl arent powdercoated its spray can mettalic blue that matchs the electronblue almost perfect then clearcoated, the intake is regular limco arylic enamel.Chrome letters are from zip products for $19.95.Jeff i used fuel repair connectors from dorman products and used socketless hose to connect to that with fuel injection clamps.

Looks great! I like the polished accessories, and the blue "anodized" look rails look awesome over silver. You should paint the "corvette" where it's red, to make it black, let it dry.. lay out your silver decals, paint them with the same can of blue paint, and stick them on.. then clear over all of it. That'd look sick. I agree with the above, the red looks kinda out of place.

Wow that really looks good. I am thinking of doing my fuel rail covers in Silver/Aluminum color. That color gives me one to look at. Good job!
