Default T56 bolt to 8.1L 496 big block?

So does the 8.1L 496 it fit up to the T56? I know the 4L80e fits up to the LS motors and it comes standard on the 8.1L so does that mean it will bolt up to the T56 or is there a special bellhousing I am not hearing about? Or does the 8.1 come with the allison?

thanks,
Mike

I'm pretty sure 8.1L is an old school big block so the LT1 T56 will probably bolt up.

Well if it helps any, I took a T56 off of a 99 LS1 Z28 and replaced it with a 4L80E from a 2003 chevy 2500HD series van. No problems, it mounted up fine. As long as they didn't change the bolt pattern on the 4L80E's, it should work.
