Found some info on the explorer rear end for ya.
from http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...Lowering_.html
and
from http://alljeep.com/tech/install/8_8_yj/8_8_yj.htm
Had some dead time at work. Hope that helps.
That's great it'll be a semi-street car, I wasn't sure since I was thinking ET Drags were slicks so it must be only for the strip. I would love to check it out in person, please do hit me up when it's completed!

Plan on doing the same conversion
I want to do a project w/ a ls1 engine in a different car. I've heard few people that has done this. But never actually spoken to anyone. The rx-7 was my first and favorite choice of car to do this transplant. So my 1st question is how difficult is the transplant. Is this very expensive. Give me a rough estimate on this transplant. Do you know of anyone that can provide some of the parts. I would appreciate some info because i'm really interested in this kind of conversion.

Umm... shouldn't you add some type of strctural chassis reinforcement for the front end?
Either way, with that cars short wheelbase, it is going to be a handful at the track
