BTW, if you choose RX7, ONLY get the Turbo car. The normal cars doesn't have the suespension, brakes, diff (not to mention some even have 4 lug wheels) that a turbo car does.

Friend of mine in has an LS1 in a Fiero....he is not a genious and the install went pretty well.

I think there is a company called V8 Archies that does kits for LT1 and LS1 swaps in Fiero's....this is where he got the hardware to do the conversion.
(this was last year, I think he said theses were prototypes...so maybe they are now released)

Mitsu Starion or a Chrysler Conquest. Everyone will think it's a nice looking Fox body if you do it right.

Those cars come stock with ls4 v8's like that, the swap to a ls1 can't be tooo hard.

SN95 Mustang(94-98) I always liked the styling but not the wussbag 4.6 V8.

300ZX Get an N/A model(they are kinda pokey, high 14 sec 1/4 mile, maybe). Would be a difficult and expensive swap IMO because not a lot of people are doing it, plus the 300ZX is a complicated car with a tight engine bay. The styling is pure sex though.

The transaxles for the Fiero SUCK!
The Mistsu car is too hard to find in good shap, and needs good bit of fabbing. Stick with a proven swap car with kits available if you want budget (2nd Gen RX7!)
You never sepcified your budget or level of fabbing skills

My 1935 Ford sedan is cheaper to insure than my "commuter car" 2006 HHR, and it is alot more fun to drive. My insurance agent never even asked me to open the hood........he asked,"how many cylinders?"........I reply, "eight"....he says ok, that's all I need. The ultimate stealth street racer.

....hey, I bet Pat's Stude isn't too expensive to insure either. It's quite a bit sleeker than my "aerodynamically challenged" old Ford sedan!

hey you mite want to check with your insurance agent to find out for sure if your car will be fully covered if you are to get into an accident. if they don't know what they are insuring they may not be charging you enough and you may not be as protected as you think. they may just find an original one to get the market value of it not considering the time and cost for the ls1 swap. did they ask for an appraisal or do you have one for your own protection. just some advice from an agent in california.

while the insurance is high on a transam the insurance would be pretty high on an rx7 or 240 sx also. these cars are pretty sporty and fast cars. almost anything cool is going to be more costly on the insurance. most insurance companies rate you off the vin of the vehicle which you probably already knew. but if you get a 240 sx and then put an ls1 in it, your company may try to void your coverage if you do get into an accident. what ever you do make sure your agent knows and notes that you do have an ls1 in it. it is in your best interest to be up front with the insurance company trust me. you might want to read some parts of this thread because rynez06 got into some trouble with the high horsepower mods on his vette.

Hey Shhhhhh. Not that I have the money now but that was what I was thinking except I wasn`t going to take it to the track...... Well and I don`t think I could do a honda civic, I don`t wanna be seen driving one of them.

My vote would be for a late 3rd gen f-body as far as ease/cost of swap. Or for a G-body for a little cheaper insurance/ better stealth

Thanks for the input rocketrider, the old dog is insured for a declared value of $30,000. I can build another one if I have to.
