Nice truck! Bet it is hella fun, I know mine is.

I also wanted to post be cause I noticed I posted on your thread last year after Steve posted and the LS1 performance parts drama. I told you that I got my oil pan notched and motor mounts from him that at the time I said worked fine. Anyways I just wanted to go back on that. The pan actually worked and has kept working so far, no leaks or anything. BUT, the motor mounts did not fit. We managed to make them fit by redrilling every hole in the damn things. Not to mention it seems Steve didn't even know which direction the mounts were supposed to go.

Lastly, I made the biggest mistake by ordering headers from him. The pessenger side fit...ok...The driver's side...completely different story. Two of the primaries didn't even come close to fitting so we dented the **** out of them to get em to work. Needless to say they are still on the truck right now but eventually I'm gonna need to spend more money fixing the primaries on the driver's side header because they are so badly dented. The headers also took months longer to get then he said they would. But he had a new excuse every week why they were'nt done.
Just thought I'd let ya know,

-Taylor

The temp stayed at a constant 195 degree's when it was in 85 degree Florida weather or 40 degree Minnesota weather. I am pretty happy with the mileage, but it could always be better. Maybe it will get a little better after the headers are installed.

Kind of off topic, but your 4x4 site is designed really well, and the layout is damn near perfect!

BTW Awesome swap! The Colorado and Canyons should have come like that from the factory!

Does anyone know if the 4x4 and 4x2 frames are the same. Just thinkin it would be nice to convert my 4x2 4 banger 5 spd into a 5.3/4L60E 4x4.

So the front diff will just bolt in and all you have to swap over is the upper and lower control arms and torsion bars?

If they'd let it, there would be a LOT of cars out there with 1967 engines installed (no emissions requirements at all).
Actually this is covered in EPA rules, not state rules. EPA allows engine swaps as long as the engine is the same or larger displacement and is from the same or newer model year vehicle. It also has to be installed with ALL emissions equipment intact and operational. As long as these guidelines are met, the swap would be legal.

Man. If GM puts the 5.3l in the newer colorado I will def be getting one.

An LS1 swap w/ LS6 heads/cam (220ish) would be the ultimate budget street truck with an easy 430+ hp at the motor.

Very cool, looks like motor mounts and various other components (electric fans, harnesses, etc) will be readily available soon.
