triumph spitfire conversion?
techniclly, yes it fits.
however, you need to re-engineer the whole car... the drivetrain, rear, suspension, interior, everything.... and thats not counting the normal replacement of everything electronic that is required with a lucas electrical system.. lol.
i put alot of thought into it, and decided it just wasnt the right choice for my spitfire... yes, it needs a new motor, but a v8 just isnt the solution im looking for.
when i get around to that project, i think something like a ecotech would fit in there better....

the spitfire i have doesnt leak a drop of oil.
the electrical system actually works.
it starts, even if the choke is not in the exact right place to coincide with the phase of the moon.
when it rains, the wipers still work.
and i dont have to smack the starter with hammer to get it to start in the winter.
and all it took is my dad dealing with thoes problems on this car since i was ~5 years old to get them all fixed..
this spitfire used to be his daily driver, over the years, he finally got it reliable... miracles do happen.
The frame rails are pretty beefy. Listen I am putting one into a 83 320i which is probably less substantial than the spitfire.
You can keep the suspensions just get different springs and shocks, put the TR6 rear in (or a e36 M3 BMW, 80's Nissan 300ZX turbo) shorten the half shafts, custom drive shaft.
I think it would be a great conversion. Do it.
