Default Is this ok?
Does my motor look ok? I pulled the heads and it looks a little chared. This is the first time I have pulled apart an LS1.

What kind of motor oil have you been using..? brand of gas ?

I would not be happy with what I see on the heads/valve's.. that coloration can't be anything good. There is a lot of carbon build up on the piston also..

Did u do a leak down or compression test before taking it apart ?

I am no expert but it looks like the oil on/in the heads looks like it got hot, almost burnt? maybe it is just the mileage.

Mine looked somewhat similar to that but not nearly is a dirty. However mine was a 20,000 mile engine but it did have a couple of rings that didn't seat correctly.

Looks like cheap gas and a cheap low detergent oil to me.
