Default It Lives

Got my PCM this morning and fired the beast 15minutes later. Fuel pump primed, I hit it and the engine fired right up....no stalling no puking....no hesitation.....It has open manifold right now and sounds pretty loud in my tiny garage.

The oil pressure came right up within 4seconds. I have not let idle for more than 10 seconds though

My only concern is the idle RPM.......it is really high. I don't have a tach hooked up but I can tell it is prolly +1500....For that reason I did not let it idle long.

Is this normal....should I grow some ballz and let it idle alittle longer? Could this be because the PCM is learning? Did your guys first start up behave in a similar way?

Thanks to all the guys who have helped me....I could not do it without you guys.

I'll grab some caps and see if that calm her down.

on mine the first time I fired it up....it went through warmup at close to 1250...then settles down to about 850. After about 10 times of that....and now 2 1 mile test drives...it has settled down to about 1100 at cold start...and about 800 after warm up cycle. After you cap all the vaccuum ports...it should be just fine.

Wow! Great news, heres to ya Been wondering when this news would show up.

Like the others said mine starts up about 11-1200 then settles down around 800. I know you gotta be pumped and can't wait to be . After making sure everything was working on mine, I just drove it to the muffler shop, no problems.

Congratulations

Pat
