It dependes, his liability premium is probably the same for a firebird and a trans am. But for full coverage it is probably a bit more for the TA, and since they are insuring it as a bird they will probably only pay for firebird parts if he has to make a claim, they will not want to pay for the more expensive TA parts since they were not OEM installed parts on that car and he is not paying premiums for the more expensive parts. He could end up with a firebird again.
