Tanks inc. sump
Do you guys know that Tanks inc. sump would work in 67 camaro stock tank?
http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/pa...prod/prd84.htm
If so can I use the stock Camaro pump with it? So I can use the stock pump and save some money?

Rock Valley can modify your stock tank and they might be able to use that pump.
They did my stock 69 tank for $520 and that included the Walbro pump
and sending unit. They did an excellent job! The fittings are recessed and
no problems with trunk floor unlike tank inc's.

Do you have the complete 4th gen sending unit? If so what about doing something like thishttp://www.cardomain.com/ride/716267/3

never heard anything bad about rock valley, but they're pricey, plus you have to pay to ship the tank both ways. tanks inc requires 6.5 or 7 inches of depth. not sure what camaro tank depth is. i'm expecting a new 68 camaro tank to be delivered this week & i'll measure when it arrives. someone on this forum shortened their tanks inc sump.

The sump will not fit as it is. You have to cut a hole in the bottom of your tank and weld in a "sumpbox" so you get room for the pumps sump.
You also need to lower the top of the tank where the pumpunit will be mounted.
It can be done by yourself, it is a lot of cutting and welding. The tank will be full of debris that has to be cleaned out so it wouldn't clog the filter. Then check for leaks, you will for sure have some.
Then you have to make room for a new sendingunit for the tankgauge.

Camaro tank is 7" deep. If we can shorten the Tanks Inc. sump unit it would work. The original LS1 pump I have is 5" long and if we recess the top 1.5" for fuel inlet and outlet it would work.

The setup is great if you can get it to fit. To test my baffle, I have been accelerating hard, with a 1/4 tank of gas and watching the fuel pressure gauge. It remains at 58 psi. The baffle has a small hole on its side that allows fuel in but will not allow the fuel to flow out easily once the baffle is full.
i know the rest of the gas in the tank moves to the back because my fuel gauge dips to E when I do this.
If I was to do it again, I would somehow incorporate the fuel pickup unit from a later model car with the tanks inc module. I am also thinking of dropping the tank and cutting an access panel in the trunk.
check out my homepage for what I did

I measured the length of the sump bowl, and measured back that far from the deepest part of the tank(the back), and cut the hole to put the pickup at the deepest part...it all fits in, and I bent the support bar to put the right angle on the sump bowl as well.
To clear my original fuel pump sender, I put a 8" long 90-degree horizontal bar on the pickup, and extended it out to the side - this way my fuel level sender didn't hit the sump system. I welded it all up, cut the original fuel supply line and weled it up too...fits like a dream.
Now I've just got to get it put up in the car soon.

I wish they would sell it without the pump. I have the original LS1 pump and bothers me to buy another darn pump.
Can we find that round seal plate anywhere and what kind of gasket it is to seal the head unit? I want to make one myself. Any help would be appriciated guys.
Thanks
