Check the PCM section. There have been topics on rewiring a 98 harness to a 99+. Or call Speartech and maybe John will help you out.

If you are going to use the 01 PCM forget about the 98 harness. Your PCM will work with any 99-02 F-body harnesses so you should be able to find one.

Rewiring the 98 harness to work with the 01 PCM would be a nightmare.

all of the 99-02 fbody harnesses use the same pinout... so you can swap between them..

the 98 fbody harness is unique, and would be a total PITA to re-wire for the 99+ computers... get a 99 to 02 harness, and go from there...

i know it would suck and thats not what im askin. i had a chance to get a 98 harness for 80 bucks. i cant even find a 99+ harness right now. and i have too much free time , rewiring the harness is no big deal to me. i just want to know if the plugs are the same.

side note
to the wierdo who suggested buy ing one and i asked if you were paying. that response was as to imply I AINT SPENDING A HUGE CHUNK OF CASH.........for something i can do myself.what are you gonna suggest i pay someone to change my oil next

The plugs on the computer will plug in, but there are a bunch of wires that are in different positions. If you have pinouts and wiring diagrams for the 98 harness and the 01 PCM and reading electrical diagrams comes easily to you it can be done.
