Default ls1 t56 into a 71 chevelle?
I was wondering how long it would take to put an ls1 into a 71 chevelle.. I'm taking the motor and trans out of a 2000 z28.. I have complete car car was wrecked.. Also how hard is it to run headers do they fit without a problem... The car had a big block in it before.. Thanks for the help..

Depends how much money you got and how much time. You can take the time and fabricate a lot of the stuff yourself, fuel system, headers, engine and tranny mounts, wiring harness, headers, cooling fans, air intake tubes, or you can spend the money and buy all of the things i mentioned. I bought some stuff and I made some stuff, but all of the links for buying and all the instructions can be found on LS1tech, that's for sure.

If it becomes too much of a project.. How much do you think a shop will pay to do it for you if you give them all the stuff they need?

Expect anywhere from $80-$150+ per hour and probably around 100 hours of work. So my guesstimate is 8-15k+. Anyone else have any idea?

t56 works great in a chevelle. it almost fits exactly into the existing mounts if the car came with a th350. the engine will work but will need custom mounts made. i would just keep the 396 or 454 it came with and build that up and crank out around 700 horses
