awesome man, love it. Im always interested in s10 projects.

Would you mind getting pics of how you tied the cage into the frame under the cab? Ive got some ideas of my own but i like to see others and im having a hard time finding pictures.

where the cage goes through the floor it has 2" X 3" tubing welded to the frame so the cage can attatch to it. I have no pictures as of yet. but as soon as i do. I'll post em.

That's looking really sharp! You'll really enjoy looking back on all the progress pics once the truck is finished.

I appreciate all the kind words guys! But Today was the day that I called Comp Cams to spec out and order my valvetrain. Boy was I surprised at the cam they spec'd out for me! LOL!

Here's a basic rundown of the cam they are making for me:

Duration @ .050" lift
Intake = 260
Exhaust = 272

Valve lift with 1.75 rockers
Intake = .687"
Exhaust = .708"

Lobe seperation angle = 110

All I can say is " Holy S@#T!!" I had to buy new springs to go with this cam, I already have the patriot gold springs good to .650" lift figuring no problem.

So we'll see how this works out for me... keep in mind this cam is for nitrous use though. I can't wait to hear this thing idle...let alone what it will do when i stand on it!!

And on a side note.... I will have some pics up very soon of stuff I have been piling up for the engine, and maybe even an update in the next few weeks with some progress on having my block machined. I need to get this thing done!

well....parts for my engine build have been arriving everyday, sometimes twice a day the UPS guy shows up. LOL!

My engine combination is this:
- 5.3L iron block bored to 3.905" and stroked to 383ci
- Patriot LS6 ported heads
- Compstar H beam rods
- Compstar forged 4" crank
- Mahle 3.905" forged pistons using Diamond pro select rings
- Valvetrain supplied by Compcams. 917 springs, Solid roller lifters and an enormous cam!! lol!
- Melling oil pump
- and a Victor jr intake and a 840cfm custom pro systems carburetor to top it off.

heres some pics!

almost there!

I know exactly what you mean. I swapped an LT1 into mine and enjoyed that for 3 years before undertaking this phase.

I can't wait to get back behind the wheel.
