I just used a 3/8 tube to an fitting, but you will have to use a small tube cutter and cut the tube right behind the raised part. There is still plenty of room for the fitting to work correctly. You can't really see it in the pic because of the covers, but it worked great and has ever leaked a drop.

I started to use the Russell QD, but ending up going to my Tubing and A/C, had him braze on a AN fitting/end and that was it..$10.00 parts and labor.. I think If I offered him a six pack, I might have gotten it for free LOL

It was a better sealing solution for one, it turned out to be cheaper.. (I had already brought the Russell, so cost was not any real issue).

I screwed on a Fuel Pressure adapter and Gauge. Then the AN / SS hoses on to that.. I think if I had used the QD, it would have started to stick out pertty far at that point, even with a 90 deg elbow. I also have the Fuel Rail swap 180 deg so that the inlet is on the passenger side and close to the stock route of my 3/8" SS hard line. (AN and SS hoses from there to the fuel rail)

The only Con to going this route is that you don't have a Quick Disconnect.. but how offen do you need to remove the line ?

I've got a dumb question about that Russell fitting: it's a 3/8" NPT male fitting, it does not accept a -6 female fitting, right? All my current fuel stuff consists of -6 AN fittings, so if I need to pick up a different hose end or adapter I'd like to be sure.

no it is a -6 fitting
fyi------3/8 = -6
also in this istance 3/8 is describing the OD of the tube.

Ok, duh on me. It looks identical but before I spend an hour in line at the local parts shop I figured I'd be sure.

Why don't they just list it as a -6 AN adapter

Yes.. 3/8" line to the Russel QD and AN -6.

Russell also makes the return line 5/16" QD to AN -6..

So, let me get this straight - 3/8 NPT = -6 AN? That part is listed at the Russell Site (RUS-640850) as being quick disconnect on one side, 3/8 NPT threaded on the other.

no it doesnt say 3/8 npt it may say 3/8 but shouldnt say npt..... the threads are diffrent on a AN fitting and NPT... but yes 3/8 (no NPT) = -6 AN fitting.... kinda confuseing , and the only reason i know is im a aircraft mechanic and AN fittings and braided lines are all aircraft use..

I think more correctly put is that a 3/8" dia tube/hose is equal to AN -6 in size.. It has nothing to do with the Thread size of a 3/8" tube/hose.

As is the following for sample of other sizes:
1/4" = -4
1/2" = -8

Hope this helps clear the air some.

Strange, I saw somewhere something that said that part RUS-640850 is NPT threaded. Summit is listing it as a 10mm-3/8" adapter though, so ... I suppose the QD is 10mm and the 3/8" is just the AN -6
