This solution worked for my 2005 5.3 Suburban engine and PCM in a 96 S10 Blazer. I haven't hooked up my HP Tuners yet to see if the Tach is accurate or not, but it seems to be close. Great cheap fix for the problem. Who sat down and figured this one out? Good job anyways.

did you ever get your tach working on an 03 pcm? I have a friend that did an 03 8.1 swap and cant get his tach working, I told him about the resistor, but it didnt work for him .

One word to the one who came up with this.......genius, got the resistor yesterday cost about 25 cents and it worked perfectly, i will be sending the Autometer adaptor back that cost 70 bucks, nice! My setup was a 2003 corvette computer with a painless harness on a 2005 ls2.
