Could I plug in a 2000-up F-body ECU into a 2004 LS1 GTO engine harness? The reason is programed F-body ECU's are cheap and it seams that the serial VATS on the GTO ECU is a cause for headaches. Ive even called some shops and they say they wont mess with them for this reason.

I have looked at the pinouts and they appear to be the same. Can anyone confirm that it would work.

We have no problem programming the GTO computers! We've done several of them now.

It seems like there are a couple of differences between the F-body and GTO harnesses, I'd have to look closer. It should be do-able. Also you would have to replace the green GTO PCM terminal retainers with the red F-body ones.

I live in Norway scandinavia, could i send you my pcm, and you tune it and remove the vats, and the catalyc sensor. what is the revlimit on a gto, is it possible to lower it to 6000 rpm maybe, in the pcm. im gonna hit it alot because im gonna drift with this engine, so I just think it makes sense to lower i a bit, to keep the engine from overrevving, what do you think? Can you fix throttle respons to when you program it, my other 98 ls1 engine is so slow on the way down from high rpm when you rev the engine, really annoying. What else can you do with the pcm that might be interesting?=
