Default Taking my Nova to the track tonight

Going to Pittsburgh Raceway Park tonight to see how this LS1 runs in this Nova. It ran 12.10's with the big block, so let's see how the LS1 with a 224\227 TR Cam, Vig converter, Pacesetters with Xpipe and dynomax compares to the old numbers. Any Predictions?

Hope it is fast. Which Pacesetters did you use on your Nova?

How did the LS1 do? I have about the same cam in my '55 but I haven't got it on the road yet.

I don't remember his exact numbers but he was in the mid-upper 12's.

12.61@106 not bad for a stock motor, LS1 intake, stock TB, no pulley and not fully tuned. The DA was around 2800' as well. We'll get him into the low 12's very soon...

Your 90 degree intake elbow isn't helping your E.T.s

I doubt it's hurting much. Had one on my Fox Mustang/stock LS1 motor that ran 7.0's in the 1/8th.

The 2800 DA is what's really hurting IMO. For a stock LS1 motor/intaked car with little or no tuning - running 12.6's in this heat - it's moving pretty good.

What is your race weight 70Nova?

He needs to update the pictures on his website. That intake elbow has been removed.

Holy cow! I was thinking a mandrel 90.. Yeah, that L shaped intake was probably flowing pretty funky.

Nice car!

Maybe he'll upload a new picture when he gets back from vacation. Or 2001 Pewter might know what new MAF sensor and air cleaner he installed.

He installed a unit from Street and Performance. Basically a MAF and air filter all in one unit that attaches directly to the Throttle body. Problem is that it gets really heat soaked. The IAT was reading 137* air, we put in a resistor in its place so it wouldn't throw off the tuning as bad.

Those Street and Performance air cleaner/MAFs are terrible. With AIT of 137 degrees, I bet you are giving up 4-5MPH. I have a nice cold air intake system on my RX7. AIT are usually about 10 degrees above ambient. A few weeks ago I was at the track and it was really hot out, tems were in the high 90s. The AITs were about 110 degrees. I was down 3 MPH, compared to when I ran before and AITs were below 90.
