That car is awesome. Very clean install. As an owner of a 1990 LX Notch (same color as the car in this thread), and having to deal with the problems associated with the 5.0L and its antiquated fuel injection system and lack-luster power on a daily basis I can tell you right now that it makes good sense to put an LSX motor into the car if you want any kind of reasonable power cheaply. My dad owns a ’03 Z06 with just headers, exhaust and work to the PCM and he’s easily at 450hp at the crank and it idles smooth as glass, never surges, and gets nearly 20 mpg in the city (very civilized). These are all things I can only dream about with my current 5.0. The car has a bumpy idle (despite having a smaller cam than the Z06) often surges or sputters for no apparent reason, and barely manages 17 mpg when I baby it. I get in the Z06 and think I need this motor in my notch, NOW.
I just need to get some funds together to make the swap and another means of transportation since the notch is my daily driver. I think anybody on this thread that questions the validity of swapping an LSX into a fox body need only drive a good 400+ hp LSX and see the vast improvements that have been made in years since the first fuel injected 5.0s were made. We’re talking about nearly 12 years of evolution here people.

for the money of putting an LS1 in (which i am doing)you could put a Hellion kit or Procharger on your car, have it tuned and make as much or more power than a cam/bolt on LS motor. just an option.

Where did the motor plate come from and let us know how the gto headers work.
