Sitting on its own will work on fabbing the transmission mount tommrow.
Here is where the shifter will sit. If anything ill get a steeda shifter (for a mustang) which will place the shifter back about 2-3 inches making it exactly centered.
Another picture to give you an idea of where the engine is mounted in the bay
And the biggest shinning moment of this whole ordeal (cause i didnt wanna be like mikespeed...
It clears the stock hood even with the altenator on top and everything!
Also got to order more goodies like
Vette fuel filter, all the stuffs to make custom headers, Wilwood clutch master, remote bleeder vavle for clutch im going to try and hunt down the stuff I need for the fuel system this weekend also.

tried to put on that bleeder kit you recommended... doesn't fit . the stock bleeder fitting is an M10x1.5 thread into the slave.

sorry forgot to mention that i got the line because it works for the clutch line also. I had fitting welded to the slave for the bleeder. I will try to find adaptors if people are interested so they can build it to work.

updates:
Finished the clutch system. (i will get the part numbers you need to run those 2 lines from summit) FYI the whole having to use wildwood clutch master was the biggest effin pain to date of this swap.
Installed my clutch system also used a Ram HD clutch. Hopefully it lasts longer than spec clutches.
Temp fuel system is in. will get my up and running but i want to get a real fuel system soon so i spent as little as possiable to get the stock setup to work, Including means to use my greddy Fuel Pressure Gauge.
Got my driveshaft in 4 days from driveshaft shop. I would recomend these guys to anyone they got it to my house in a jiffy. And it looks REALLY good. Driveshaft measured 44.5"
Transmission mount was finished about a week ago im getting it powered coated i'll have pictures up of it for you to see.
Radiator hoses found, ill have part numbers up for that incase anyone else is using a SR20 Koyo radiator.
Wiring is done for the car. Ill have pictures of this soon. I found someone who has really cool relay and fuse boxes will make it basicly look like an OEM box.
SOOOO close i can feel it. Big last thing is im making the custom long tube headers this weekend hopefully i'll have have it running by this weekend. (open headers of course)

those guys are by far the best vendor i dealt with when building my car. from initial order to on my doorstep in 3 days and fit perfectly. and i believe mine was the same length you came up with, 44.5".

(I don't want to have it kill the lower end torque compared to that of a the stock LS1 cam so I'll have to research more when I'm about to do the swap) There's a GX5... type cam that I have seen some people talk about as well but I don't know anything about it yet.
same here... i plan on getting to that later but for now with the stock LS1 the car is certainly no slouch.

one of the deciding factors on me doing this swap was i have a set of brand new thunder racing stage 2 heads, lingenfelter manifold, bbk throttle body, pushrods and guides, terra rockers, and a thunder racing 224/224 .563/.563 112 LSA cam. my EX girlfriend has a 2000 ss and i was going to build a motor for it, when we broke up i had a bunch of stuff sitting around.i plan on getting the motor in the car and running then take it out and rebuild it. im shooting for around 450...maybe more maybe less
