Best place to find engines

I tried to search but keep getting timeout errors, sorry if this has been covered, which im sure it has.

anyway i think ive made the decision to put a ls1 in my track monger 97 240sx. now, i have never purchased a domestic engine before so this is all foriegn to me haha.

where are the best places to pick up motorsets? (engine/tranny/ecu/wiring)

junkyards? any online ones worth a damn? im trying to avoid ebay...

honestly, I've seen the best deals on here. For a complete drop out (engine, tranny, computer, wiring) from a junk yard, you are looking at least $4500. I've seen way better deals on here.

there was a local parts yard around here, picked up a 2002 LQ4 6.0 with 50,000 miles on it with a harness and computer for $1300. also had transmissions for $800

personaly i wouldnt buy an LS1 or LS2, LS1s are way overpriced IMO and LS2s are slightly less overpriced.
