Default AC Bracket help

Along with my truck came this bracket. Im wanting to get the AC working this weekend, but im having a hard time figuring out how this bracket is mounted. Heres a few pics of the bracket. If anyone has a similar set up, or pictures to help I would appreciate it. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

I used brackets from f-body motorsports and an f-body compressor, but my car is an 84. It would probably be harder to make the compressor work on your truck.

I have a stock 98 LS1 bracket if you want it. It will mount it in the lower right hand corner of the block. 50 shipped sound okay? PM me.

My alternator is located on the front right bottom. The left bottom wouldnt work either due to the chassis. This is a PITA! Anyone use a braket like this?

Looks to me like the 3 bolt holes in the bracket mount onto the passenger side head. You will have to take off the ground cable and the other bolt in the head. The bracket looks like it is threaded to accept the ground cable once it is in place. Now the flat side with the three bosses on it should be verticle. The compressor should then bolt to the three bosses.

That's my guess from the photos anyhow. Hope it helps ya.

It seems like there is something missing. The stock compressor bracket mounts flat with 4 bolts.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. The tensioner is also in the way so I considered relocating. I took both the tensioner and ground off to try and mount bracket, but the bracket dosent get in close enugh to the valve cover. The back of it hits the valve cover.

Looking at the marks on the bracket it looks as if it had spacers between it and the heads. That would probably allow it to clear the valve cover.

This obviously isn't a stock bracket. I assume you are using F-body accessories. Do you not have enough room for the stock F-body A/C bracket?

The stock Fbody AC is mounted so low on the passenger side that it an't fit too much that I can see. I wish it did though.

Yeah, Im pretty sure it will hit the chassis if I use a stock bracket. Ill have to try spacers and see if that works for me. Where can I buy some aluminum spacers?

I have seen aluminum bar stock at some of the home supply stores but you might just want to try some stacks of washers until you see if it is going to work and line up. That way you can play with the thickness by adding or deleting washers.
