Default 5.3 into 58 chevy apache pickup

I continue to work away on the installation of a 2005 5.3 w 4L60e tranny from a 2005 Avalanche. I have just finished the frame-off and brake work under the cab. Wiring harness has been redone and computer re-programed by John at Speartech. I cannot say enough about how helpful he has been. I getting ready to add S&P headers, Ididit column, and Old Air AC. Keeping engine stock, lots of room. Have installed MII IFS from Full Tilt, and actually used a CCP tubular engine mount w/LS1 mounts. Currie rear w/ 3.25 and 4 link. Aim to have a low and fast highway cruzer. I'll post some photos of this shortly. The truck oil pan on this engine is really set back, allowing lots of clearance. The stock exhaust probably could have been shoehorned in, but the headers will be a nice touch. Would be happy to hear from others using 5.3 or LSx into old metal.

They are Pacesetter race headers with the drivers side collector moved in, that's all I had to do to make it fit.

i'm popping a 5.3 in to a 68 camaro. got the engine running on the crate several weeks ago & pulled/sold my old engine last week. i'm itching to drop the 5.3 in & enjoy it, but i'm thinking now's a great time to clean/paint engine bay.

To embed the images, load them to a site like photobucket.com. Then when you are composing a message use the "insert image" icon and paste the photobucket location of your stored image(s).

What application were your headers designed for?
