LS1 Swap..$$$$ Do to the fact that I dont have a garage to even attempt to do this myself and with the help of friends...(even tho I have tools). I was wondering what it would cost for a shop to do the complete swap for you? maybe 3,000? Let me know.. thanks!

I would say it would have to cost a lot more than 3k to do a swap, there is 100s of hours of work in swaping a lsx motor into a car that was never designed to have it, also there is the custom faborcation of countless one-off parts, i would say that you coulnt get a lsx put in a 72 camaro for less than 10k in labor...

Most of these guys doing swaps themselves have 8-10k in the swap. It's not cheap, but it's worth it!

if youre lucky you can score a '98 LS1T56 for $2500 and you can definitely find an auto trans LS1 for far less, even a truck motor, but that doesnt leave you much $$$ for anything else.
you should look into buying a wrecked Fbody and parting out everything you cant use. if you can score a wrecked car for 5 grand and sell off $1500 worth of stuff, you can have a motor, trans, cluster, gauges, rad and fans, etc for $3500 or so... thats the way to go if you have the time to part it out and the space to do it in.
but without a garage you might be s.o.l.

BTW, are you looking at total cost or just simple labor cost of 3,000? The motor swap was the "easy" part for me, it was the god damn 4th gen HVAC that was difficult.

6 speed or auto? What time frame are you looking to get this done in? What do you wnat done for a fuel system? Do you want to tackle that? What about exhaust? Are you just looking for soemone to actually drop the motor in, or are you looking at costs to install, wire, plumb, etc labor wise? Basically make it turn key to drive away?
