confused, suddenly I want to put a 6.0l truck engine in my 70 Impala. A reputable speed shop in my town tells me that I HAVE to use the catalytic converters and connect all 4 O2 sensors to have the car run properly with the stock computer; they mentionned in particular that you cannot fool the rear O2 sensors and that they are absolutely needed. They also say that if I want to remove the converters, I must use an aftermarket computer and have it programmed specifically. This goes against everything I have read ro heard on the topic!!! So, what is the scoop? Who is right?
My original idea was to remove th catalytic converters (for space and simplicity), run the stock reprogrammed computer and the stock modified harness: am I crazy???

You have it right. I'd say it's your speed shop that's confused.
