Default Put an ls1 in a firebird???

Hey guys i was just wondering what all would be best to change out in a 98 or newer firebird in order for a ls1 to fit and run at its best??? i want to have around 500 rwhp. so please help me out. and if you know anyone that has a 98 and up trans am or firebird roller or anything of that sort please send them to me. i want to make a strip/street car. thanks guys.

check the info in the stickies at the top of this section. plenty of info. i'm putting a 6.0L in my 73 firebird, lots of guys putting lsx engines in second and third gens. should add year of your car in your post for more help. also check nastyz28.com for info. horsepower and swap depends on how much work you're willing to do and how much you're willing to spend. joel

When this question came up in the past I believe the consensus is that it is better to start with an F Body that came with an LS1 originally rather than try to convert a 6 cylinder car. It's cheaper, fewer headaches and the resale value will be better.

Bottom line, if you want a 98+ car, find a Trans Am or Formula with LS1 from the factory, then get to modifying.

yea i second that too..unless its a huge drastic swap, just try n find it with the LS1 already how it came stock, its easier on ur wallet and you'll save a bunch of money on beer 4 those long weekends working on the car lol
