Default TB-to-MAF plumbing

Hey all,

Just curious - I am tight on space and need to connect my TB and MAF together. the stock setup had an accordion tube connecting the two together. I need something shorter than that - does anyone sell a fitting for this? (I've got a '01 WS6 engine, all stock).

TIA.

Looks good - and I've seen similar setups on other vehicles. This would work!

I guess I basically need to figure out how to route everything. I wanted to go with a K&N elbow, but not sure how it would all work out.

Anyone care to show pics of their setups (all in one thread), along with part numbers and pricing?

I guess, basically, I'm looking for a setup similar to this black elbow, but do not know who manufactures it:

if it works better for your application, you can skip the MAF and put a 4" filter right on the throttle body. Then switch to speed density mode (requires PCM reprogramming).

No dice - I don't have LS1edit - had Wait4Me program all of my stuff out. Until LS1edit becomes more affordable for 1-vehicle use, I won't be able to pick it up.

With all of the hybrids out there right now, considering the cost involved with a swap like this (at lesat in my case), they put LS1edit just out of reach for this DIY'er and probably many others out there

I'll be happy if they ever reduce the price for single-VIN use to $250 or so (dongle+software).

Thumbs up Speaking of...

Speaking of rubber hose intakes for the LS1 MAF, filter, etc..., Anyone have the part number for the stock LT1 rubber 90 degree air-intake hose? It fits & works great on an LS1. Thanks, Gar

I'm pretty sure it's listed in the parts number thread here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....8&postcount=18

Maybe it's one of the first three on that list? What is a "1LE"? Is it an engine? Gar

1LE is a RPO code and means factory race options. The reason you need a 1LE elbow is because it wont have the hole in the bottom of it that the stock Z28 elbow has. That hole is used for some emissions stuff, which you dont need.

However, you can probably pick up one of the elbows above for less money.

Call S&P directly. Mark, Tom and the other guys are like, stupidly helpful when it comes to helping you make decisions. When you pay premium prices, you get premium service in their case. I will forewarn you, expect to pay a few hundred dollars for the polished unit. It's silly expensive but it looks nice. Also, know ahead of time (before calling) if your MAF plug has 3 wires or 5 wires. They will need to know this to quote you the price.

As for the elbow, I ordered from intakehoses.com - 4" to 3.5" reducing elbow, along with some 3.5" silicone fitting and 4" silicone fitting. All out the door and to my house for less than $45 shipped 2nd day air (I'm in a hurry).

Thanks for all the advice. After banging search a litle bit more, I found some good recommendations that were similar, guess I wasn't using the right terms the first time around??
