Also, if the camshaft is original and you can read the P/N on it, don't know if you can or not, the F-bodies cams go as follows:

'98 - 12557812
'99-'00 - 12560965
'01-'02 - 12561721

HTH!

Once you pull the rear main cover off you should be able to also see the rear oil passages. Since the casting number shows it to be a later block instead of having two smaller type holes the oil passeges should be pretty open all the way across the top of where the camshaft is.

It cant. Your numbers are wrong or they mixed the computers. The 98 is the only year that looks different. It is huge and has cooling fins. If it has no fins and is more FLAT then its 99-02.

Progress for the day. 25 dollar motor mounts :] im going to do what chin did on the bottom half with just a solid brick of alum which is really cheap so total like 50-60 for front mounts i can live with that. the eventual design of the mounts will be a lil different but essentially the same with no difference in cost so thats a +

Are you going to fab up your motor mounts? If so I'd be intrested in picking up another pair from you. Just name your price. Also let me know if you're going to make the transmission mount, or any other parts (driveshaft) and I'll pick those up from you too!

lol they are fabbed. ill be making all my mounts. a driveshaft is something i wouldnt attempt myself due to balance issues. the motor mounts still need another peice that will bolt to the frame, but its essentially just a solid block with 2 holes drill in it. total engine mounts shouldnt cost more than like 60 bux. im trying to fab a mounting kit for roughly 100 bux total.

the mounts themselves are nothing but flat plates drilled out and 1967 Chevy El Camino (as well as millions of other GM cars) mounts. got them for like 5 bux a peice from my job (Autozone) with a lifetime warranty lol

This is what you get after spending 300 bux on aluminum : \ lol

Mounted up the GTO oil pan. something i did notice is the difference in coverage of the windage trays vs the f body tray. it covers 100% of the main cap area vs the f body trays 70%.

i sneeked in a picture of my freinds early christmas present. complete 00 ls long block
