Scared myself for 1st time!
Since firing her up for the first time last month, I really haven't had much time to work on the little issues. I had a leaking brake caliper, a bad fitting here, something stupid there....you guys know how it goes.
But tonight after work I got some of the loose ends cleaned up and took her out. Just cruising down the street in 3rd around 2000rpm I decide to push the pedal down and see what happens... the rear steps out hard, getting me crazy sideways, the 295's never had a chance
I knew I'd have some torque down low but I never expected that

Thanks guys. Motor itself actualy went in very smoothly once we figured out the best way to do it. Basically Motor/trans went in as 1 unit with headers and mounts bolted up. I did remove the entire front clip and had to disconnect the steering assembly but did not need to remove crossmember....everything just slid right in.
Only gauge not getting a signal is the stock water temp, but I'm using a VDO water temp gauge in it's place which is more accurate so I don't care.

Put some better tires out back and you will get use to modulating the throttle. Cold tires won't hook up... you need to put some heat in them.
I can put down the power of 440rwhp with 3:90 gears and 24.5" tall 285/30/18's out back. You just need to get used to it.
My combo: '99 shortblock with Katech rod bolts, AFR 205's, LS6 intake, TSP 233/239 cam, long tubes, 7100rpm redline.

Oh the tires were defniitely cold (air temp was in the high 30's), and I had really just been puttin up and downthe street till I decided to romp on it. Right now I'm running Pirelli asimmetrico 295/30/18's, which I think will be more than enough in the summermonths or if given some time to warm up.
