700R throttle input Questions
i am getting ready to swap a 2004 5.3 into a 1992 K5 Blazer. Presently in Blazer is 5.7 and 700R. When you swap onto the 700R, which flexplate/bolts should I use? And what thickness spacer if any? Also the 2004 has drive by wire. Easier to switch to cable throttle to have TV cable hookup for 700?
I have a early 460le and cable throttle so looking for easiest way out.
When I have computer programmed, if I use the 700, setup computer like a T56?
I can't help you witht he spacers for the T-700 but if you are keeping T-700 you'll need to switch to a cable operated throttle body (modified for TV cable) and have your PCM reprogrammed for a manual.
Easiest way is to use the 4L60E,and keep your fly by wire (if you have the pedal and TAC module)
Are all 460le trans the same from the electronics end? I have heard that some early ??? are different. I have a harness from a 2004 2wd and the swap trans will be 1999 4wd. I think the transfer case ect from the 700 will fit.
Still wondering about the spacer and using the 700. If I am going to have any tranny and or transfer case issues I think it would be easier to stick with the 700.
Dont yet have the TAC stuff or ECM computer, it didnt come with this motor. Anybody got one for sale?

I have heard of people using a 700R behind a LS motor. To use a 700, you need a TV cable to control shift firmness ect. The only real way to do that is with mechanical throttle linkage.
Since I need to buy a harness and ECM, the early (pre 2001 cable throttle) are easier to find and cheaper. Then I know the 700r I have in truck now works well. If I use the earlier circa 1998 4L60, I am not sure that the sensors ect are the same as with the 2003 motor I need the ECU to match.
Thanks
