Edelbrock 7118 carb kit problems and questions.

I've got the 7118 carb kit and was there is an extra port for a plug in on one side. What is supposed to plug in there?
Also, anyone bolt a holley 4150 style carb DIRECTLY on the 7118 manifold? I had to grind the carb pad a bit because one of the accelerator pump housing bolts on each float bowl was contacting the manifold. The float bowl was touching the spark box as well. I think edelbrock wants a spacer with the holley carb.
I managed to fit it all under the stock 81Z scoup by not using a spacer and moving the spark box to the firewall. I'm using a 14x3 drop base filter and I opened up the factory hole in the stock hood.

my questions were never answered.
now that the MSD unit is out, i hope edelbrock loses sales on their kits, but there wil always be the guy thats wants something simple, in one box, ready to go, so they will still sell like mad.

I bought mine used but "still in the box" from a guy who changed his mind. Saved tons of money that way. I'll probably upgrade the box later.

my buddy has the msd, and they have a handheld unit like a hypertech so you can set you rpm limits and 2 step and nitrous if you dont have a laptop or a computer accessable.
wonder if the box was plugged in would it control the box?
i might have to get it from him.
