Probably have to make your own handle. Just get a short throw base and make your own handle, i dont know if a pro 5.0 handle would be tall enough to modify or not.

No point to make your own handle. Lokar sells aftermarket handles:

Notice the T56 single-bend and dual-bend models.

Remember, "short throw" does not mean "short stick", it means there is less movement in the stick (both front to back and side to side). You can still have a long stick with a short throw. I think the single bend would work nicely.

It depends on what motor mounts you use. BRP style will probably come up to far back, but I didn't modify my oil pan. So it is set back pretty far.

Default Bench seat and shifter

LOL.. been there, fixed it.. do a advance search on my userId or "shifter relocation".. You will find that I have been through what you are about to find out.

You can go with the Mcleod wtih its Relocation Kit and custom shifter which moves the shifter to the front cover. But I though that the front was just a bit too far forward and would end up buying one of McLeod's custom shiter, cost was adding up and the labor to take down the trans and put it back together was adding up. The seat was too close to the trans and tunnel and would not give just a custom shifter enough room. (in my option)

I found the Viper trans T56 that was rebuilt and had the GM input shaft already converted. The Viper T56 wtih if forward position of the shifter was forward 3-4" over the F-Body, this put the shifter just in front of the Bench seat with more than enough room.
I have not finished everything, finalizing the shifter now. I either need to buy and modify a shifter (Pro 5.0, B&M, etc) or modify the stock Viper or F-body.

You can find my project on cardomain

Sorry for the bad image, but take a look..

PM me if you want to know more.

Hope this helps..
