What kind of spark plugs and gap size are working well with carbed LS1?

What kind of spark plugs and gap size are working well with carbed LS1? I just got my car running and I am running NGK tr55 plugs gapped around 50, they are pure black. I am running a 750 Speed Demon carb and I have jetted it down 4 sizes. I changed the pill size in the Eldebrock box from a 6 to a 3, it made a big difference but they are still pretty dark. It looks like I should maybe run a little bit hotter plug and close the gap up also. I would love to hear what anybody else has had luck with please. Thanks.

i was running tr55 with a .055" gap with my carbed jetted down to 70-71 primary, 78-79 in the secondary with the #3 timming curve pill and was having the same problem untill i got my idle air/fuel and float level correct. go to demon carbs web site for the info on adjusting.after adjusting the carb it idles alot better and the plugs look good and the off idle throttle response is surrprisingly quik.hope that helps.
