Mallory 5110FI pump

Mallory 5110FI pump
Hi all,
I'm preparing to put an LS2 into a Datsun 240-Z. I've been reading through a number of threads and see that for external fuel pumps the most talked about pumps are the Walbro and the Aeromotive A1000.
I've been looking at pumps myself and came across the Mallory 5110FI ($230), which looks promising. Specs are: 100psi max, 72gph, with 8-AN inlet and outlet. Mallory recommends it for continuous use at 65psi.
When I searched on here for "Mallory" and "pump" I only got one hit. I found that Pop N Wood plans to use a Mallory pump in his build.
So, the questions:
1. Does anybody have feedback regarding this piece?
2. I'm still a little new to FI, but am I correct that this pump is within the required specs for an LS2? I plan on some modifications to the engine, and high-rpm use and want to avoid fuel starvation problems.
3. Do you think I use this pump in conjunction with the Corvette regulator piece, or would I be better off going with the recommended Mallory regulator ($100).
Thanks for any and all help.

I like Mallory stuff and although I'm no expert, I don't see a problem with using it. I would go with the regulator instead of the Corvette piece if it were me. Keeps everything the same size AN throughout and also give you adjustability and vacuum/boost reference. Not sure if the Corvette stuff does, but I don't like staying with anything stock in the fuel system if I can help it.

No input on the pump, but if you want a high power fuel system and you are going to use a similar external pump definately go w/ a regulator under the hood. Mallory, Aeromotive...
No reason to spend big bucks on a pump w/ -8 and have to run it into a 3/8 -6 regulator/filter.
Fuel systems get expensive fast, don't ask how I know, but better to do it right this time then have to redo it when you up the power level.
