Sorry for the rambled post but I'm working on 2 hours of sleep.
Well today was a mess. We had to take my son back to the hospital this morning @ 4am for his surgery. Didn't get seen until 7 and got out of surgery at 10. Thank god he is fine and the surgery went as planned but dad is tired....
Anywho to the street car...We completed;
Front to rear brake line
Torqued ATI Balancer
Fabricated pointer and found TDC on the balancer
Clearanced and cleaned the oil pan really good, installed
cleaned out all the SS lines
Got the water connections tight on the IC and tested the pump
Called and gave my machinist the specs for the plugs still needed
Got the water tank and the fuel tank mounted
Picked up 6 gallons of Q16
Got all of the SS lines installed
Tank full of Q16
Dry sump got 1.5 gallons of rotella + EOS
Primed motor, still need to wire oil pressure sender
Mounted AMS-1000 solenoids
Picked up some weatherstripping for the radiator shroud that was damaged while welding
Radiator bolted in place
So last night I did some basic wiring
Battery - to chassis
Battery + to switch(Flaming river)
Cutoff to Alternator
Make a bump switch to start setting the rockers
Time started ticking down and knowing I was going to call it quits early. I spun the motor over 6-7 times to see what kind of fuel pressure we'd see cranking. No dice. Decided to quit, went in and took a shower. Looked back at the instructions and saw the pump needed to be rotated 180 degrees and the fittings switched. So went back out and rotated the pump. When I took the -12 fitting off I got covered in Q16 but I forged ahead.
Got the pump connected and decided to try spinning the motor over. Spinning the motor over for 3-4 seconds I see ~15-20psi of fuel pressure. So basically I need to set the valves and install the plugs and she should fire.

Got alittle done this morning....
Big Stuff wired to the battery, switched power and all grounds done
Wired up the autometer pressure sender and connected to Racepak
Wired up the racepak to the BS3
Checked all circuits and everything looks good.
I picked up a turbostart 16 volt battery charger today, USB to serial adapter for the BS3, and a handful of 1 and 2 ga terminals. Tonight when I get home I plan on pulling out the BS3 tune and getting timing/fuel/base parameters set. I'll program the racepak to recieve the oil pressure.
We won't get any work done tomorrow but thursday morning I'll set the plug gap and set valve lash. I should get it started by 1-2pm.

The oil filter issue that was brought up, I was reading about a guy that lost his while driving. There was talk of DSM's losing them. They talked about welding a tab on them. BLAH.
In your case I personally would make a bracket that clamps the filter to the remote mount. IDK If you get what I am saying. Basically sandwich the filter. Little thought and you could make something fairy nice.
Car is absolutely awesome. Thanks for taking the time keeping this thread up to date.

Today was a long day. Lashed the valves this morning and dropped in the plugs. Started on the inital fire around 12. cranked a couple times and nothing. Found out there was no spark. Checked everything and all looked fine. after an hour of checking wires with a volt meter I checked the fuses and sure enough one was blown. Changed that and still no fire. Traced it down to the LS2 cam sensor wires being reversed. Apparently mine didn't need to be reversed not sure if its because I hooked directly to the sensor.
The car takes a good 3-4 seconds to fire without a check valve which I'll order tomorrow. Once it starts It will idle around 1200 pretty easy, A/F started in the 12.5 range and after a couple rounds it came down to 14.8-15.0:1. The car surprisingly revs strong and hits hard. I need to pick up some coolant plugs tomorrow and tune some more. Big Stuff 3 is pretty easy to work with but the HPT GUI works soo much better when it comes to getting the A/F dialed in.
