This morning was uneventful, basically cleaned up around the shop and started working on mounting the oil filter. I'm going to put it in the driver fender behind the tire, should be an easy place for oil changes. Ordered another round of goodies
-Aeromotive fuel pressure guage + adapter - will finish off fuel system
-12 hose for dry sump tank
-10 hose for turbo return to pan
-6 hose for transmission cooler - needed 10 more feet since we relocated it from the front to the water tank in the rear
- 18" of D stock to finish up the steering
- couple misc AN fittings
This week we should be able to:
Button up dry sump completely
Finish oil filter mount + lines
Finish up the Co2 lines for the WG, Boost controller and BOVs
Finish up the brake lines, need to run a single line from front to back for the rear brakes
Start the electrical portion of the build.

I used to have my oil filter mounted there, then it backed off some and oiled my tires. Scary thing down the track. I would advise finding somewhere in the middle of the car to mount it....

just use a filter thats easily safety wired and you wont even run the risk. the k&n filter has a nut with a hole through it for safety wire, so something like that would give you some peace of mind.

I'll look into it. We're running a big diesel oil filter so placement is tough due to size. Right now I've notched the frame rail to run it behind the driver front tire. There is literally no space for the filter unless we drastically moved it which would cause more problems with routing the SS hose.

Maybe you could put an easily removable pan underneath the filter to re-direct any leaks to the center of the car between the tire tracks.

Same thing happened to me, but I blew an oil line. Went sideways in a hurry. Soiled myself, got laughed at, had to see a therapist, got put on medication.

I had a 89 Turbo T/A and bought a large turbo and oil filter relocation kit from Precision Turbo. The lines were high pressure rubber and were held on by barbed brass fittings. All of this came with the kit. I was racing and 100ft from the launch, the oil line simply blew off and puked a bunch of oil. When I got the car back home, I replaced all of the lines with braided lines and AN fittings and never had another issue. I called Harry at Precision and explained the problem and he didn't offer an answer as to what could have happened.
