Probably cut the roof off to make welding easier and so he can weld all the way around the tube rather then using the required gussets if you dont weld all the way around the tube

I cut the roof off so I could get the cage as close to the headliner as I could, its going back on before its all over with anyways I got to go to work but I had 2 hours today to work.

i never really looked at how easy it would be to cut the roof off and put it back on with a mustang till i seen your pics in the drag racing section the other day. the only body work you will have to do is on the a pillar.
