This gives a nice quiet apperence in the engine bay....

Sorry KDawg maybe it will help you out also.
Well the passenger side didn't work lacked about an inch. Drivers side fit like it was made for it, even cleared the steering linkage. I'm not positive these are off of an LS6 but the guy told my father that is what they came from, glad I didn't have to buy them. I have seen some pics of manifolds that exit dead in the center like a shorty header does anyone know what they may be off of, or have some pictures of the different styles like the F-body etc? Thanks,

ATS, problem is though I welded in my own frame stands because I had a big block before. If the motor was up an inch or 1- 1/2 it would probably work. It also needs to go up anyway because it is hitting the R&P just don't want to go that high.

I figured the same. Who's got ideas for the drivers side?

have you guys tried the block hugers, I have seen hooker and I forgot the other company that makes them for an ls1, they are shorties.
I am doing this same project. I am building a 348-383 ci ls1 carb setup heads and cam. I bought the mustang II setup from checkered racing with the qa1 setup and rod ends etc. I am putting a built 6speed in there and the car is a 63 2door post back halfed full cage. I have no floor as I will be making out of the jegster alumin floor kit...
I will post pics up soon...
heres a pic of the front end, only problem is I have to weld in the motors mounts, and I have no idea where to place it and the angle needed for sufficient oil flow etc..

I ordered a set of Ford shorties that looked like they may fit, with the LS1 flanges that is. They fit really good and cleared everything. Then I had my trusted exhaust guy look at them to see about welding the LS1 flanges in place of the Ford's and he said as soon as you cut the tubes loose from the flanges they would spring out in all directions . I asked about making the tubes near the flanges round again (the Fords are squared) and his tubing machine needed to be inserted 3 inches to work so that was a no go too. So that solution got shot down. My next try will be the Hooker LS1 shorties but I am concerned that the collector flange will hit the frame rails on my TCI clip. This is getting old but I still don't want to spend $1000 on custom made headers.

Here are some pictures of the LS1 in my Nova showing how little room there is with the TCI clip.
