i know the preludes are heavy. 3000lb plus. civic ex (the loaded model, 2 door) 2900lb plus. the civic hatches (DX and VX models i think, the base ones) are around 2300lb if i recall. crx, i have no clue. i know the the prelude and civic ex cause i have the civic ex (95) and thats why i didnt put any money in it. i found out if was like 2900 lb (same as my 240). and i was going to get a lude but i changed my mine. thats why alot of people go with the hatches and then put B,H or K motors in. i like hondas but hate the fwd.

Shitbox maybe but crx's weigh anywhere from 1720-1950 lbs, is that not light?
Definently easier to start with a RWD.

Leave the poor CRX alone. You'll end up with an engine that won't fit and a ruined car in the process. I use a CRX as my dd. While no rocket, it still gets 40mpg at 280k. I can even embarass a lot of drivers if they can't drive. It is what it is, and even an LS4 would not fit. Keep thinking, but this one is a non-starter.

where are you located? if it runs i'll buy it. CRX factory are in the 2100lb range, ive weighed one at the truck scales.

i personally think it would be cool if it were done and kept clean and stock appearing.
