Default CRX Swap

My buddy has a 1990 Honda CRX for sale for like $300 and I was wondering how much work would need to be done to swap a LSx motor in to it. I know a narrow rearend beefed up suspension and other things but what else.

Insane amounts, I know crxs like the back of my hand, sticking a B series motor in them isn't even just a bolt in.

A long motor like a LSX will require firewall hacking possibly lenghtening the chassis.

I'm sure if you are willing to do insane amounts of work and welding yes it can be done anything can be but when it is done you couldn't drive it on the street anymore.

If you really want a Honda with an LSX, on www.honda-tech.com someone has an LS1 prelude.

The lude is a larger car by a good deal esp in the motor bay. Crxs have one of the smallest bays of all the Hondas. Stock motor with A/C it's tight.

Any crx questions feel free to ask me

Cool, yes...but a good swap candidate, no. If you plan on drag racing the car...the short chassis will NOT be conducive to launching the car. Let's put it this way...it'll just be ugly. I don't think a 93 celica would too much better.

i saw a couple CRXs with 350s in them. so i dont think its as hard as everyone thinks. that prelude isnt a prelude anymore.. its a tube chassis.

i had the thought of doing a ls1 in a crx. but my idea was engine in the back with a something like a fiero tranny or some front wheel drive gm tranny. dunno if you could but just something i thought about maybe looking into.

it can be done, there's a local shop here with an NSX motor/trans stuffed into the back of the CRX chassis. it's pretty pointless but it could be done.

lol it could be done but it wouldnt fit for **** lol. id much rather find something nicer to swap an ls into. its not like you would be saving some huge amount of weight by sticking it in a shitbox honda. hondas are extremely overated. especially at being light.
