heres my issue with a modified pan, it's capacity. The stock F-bod pan is 5 quarts? cut it down to 4.5ish with the modification, that does not sit well with me. For an extra $100 or so dollars I would opt for the Autokraft/Moroso/Milodon oil pan that is 7 quarts.

Champ pans is the producer of the Autokraft pan, I got mine shipped to my door for $380.

If it makes you feel any better we worked with GM to design our road race oil pan. They liked it so much they use all our stuff(ATS) on their own project cars. There was quite a bit of room for improvement over the F body factory pan.

ATS (Teetoe Jones) makes a simular pan that uses a remote oil filter setup.
