The LS1 is better than the 2JZ OR the 2JZ is better because...

I think there is a guy in the FI forum right now with a stock ls2 block/cubes w/forged internals running bottom eights and possibly 7's. This is an aluminum block and is making insane power.

Titan Motorsports won the ADRL 10.5" tire class on their first outing! The 2JZ-GTE powered Titan Motorsports Scion qualified #3 with a 4.35@168, then went on to take the win...
L-Brad Personett, 4.337/167.18 (**Winner**) http://www.titanmotorsports.com/
R-Kenny Kneece, 4.525/164.11 http://www.automaticpromods.com/
Congrats Titan!!!
BTW...
The EXTREME 10.5 RECORD is:
4.326: Steve Kirk Jr. http://www.kirksspeedshop.com/
170.49: Mike Hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AKi0e2A3O4
Not bad considering this is the first time a 2JZ has competed in a 10.5" tire class that has been doninated by the domestic croud.

The reason why I have my fbody now is because back when I had a supra I heard of stories of some ls1 fbodys being high 12 second cars stock and I coudn't afford another tt supra (I'm not much for the styling anymore either). I wonder what a torque convertor and drag radials or spraying nitrous would have done for the old supra.

I own a Lexus sc300.Its slow because its non turbo.I could just turbo it but the head/intake and some parts of the block are different compared to the 2jz-gte.Any ways if you single turbo a 2jz-gte and do some simple fuel/ecu upgrade you will beat just about anything on top end.Ya 2jz are a little over rated but its good reliable power.Plus who do you know that has a LSX engine that has 1200-1600hp and has a/c and p/s.And still gets 19-24mpg when you stay out of the throttle? And thats driven every other day?And that you can drive to and back from the track? But every one has done a GTE swap into a sc so thats why i am going to put a ls1 into mine.Plus i do want some torque.

There so many missed point here. The 2JZ motor came stock Forged because it was made for FI which is why is handles more power stock. Who care about stock crap when your trying to push 1000RWHP and up.
There a few 1000RWHP pump gas small blocks hell i saw a 1900 HP pump gas big block
Who cares again when you dump the amount of money for a 1500 hp engine whats 80 bucks for fuel,
Both are pretty good engine but both have pros and cons

My opinions:
2JZ-GTE - Stock bottom end can handle extreme power, almost limitless power potential with $$$$, kinda heavy, has to spin on up there to get the power (horsepower is relative)
LSx - Stock bottom end has limits, absolutely limitless power potential with $$$, can be light (alum. block), makes significant power at almost any RPM
Basically I guess I feel like there is no replacement for displacement. Afterall, an engine is just an air pump, so the move air you can more, the more power you make. You can build a high horsepower FI LSx cheaper than you can a high horsepower 2JZ, you can set the weight farther back (I6 is long), you don't always have to spin it up, and lets face it....V8's sound better!
I will still take Clydesdales over Shetlands any day!

OK i might have went a little over board on the numbers.LOL. but it sounded funny.1000-1200hp is still good for a/c and p/s in supras. But there are people that still drive there car every other day.But seriously if you stay out of the throttle you do get about 20-23mpg.If you dont believe me than search on supraforums.com
