Question Plug wires LS1 with headers

What is a good choice for wires that will give a bit longer reach for using headers. Don't want to pay $100 at S&P for wires. It looks like the Taylor Thunder Volt 10.4 P/N 98003 would be a good choice, but are they the same length as OEM or a little longer to clear headers. Can't seem to find this out anywhere. Also looking at the Taylor part number 74044 in the 8mm SPiro Pro.

Stock-length MSD wires works great with my Hookers... if they were longer, they'd lay on the header tubes.

I used magnecor wires. Lifetime warranty. They were just barely longer than the stock wires. $60. I have FLP headers.

I used the Taylor 10.4 race wires for a Silverado...they were about 2.5 inches longer than the stock fbody wires...and work great.

I've used Taylor Thundervolt on 3 cars, 2 with headers; never had a problem with them.

Using Stock-length MSD wires and SW headers. Looks like it will fit without any mods.

Just checked out Taylor's website. If their lengths are in inches... The vette/f-body wires, part number 79X03, are 8" long. And the truck wires, part number 79X05, are 11" long. So what those above said is correct. A couple inches longer. Thats for the 10.4mm "409 race wires"...I think thats what they are called. And the price was also correct. $63 for the f-body wires, and $65 for the truck wires from summit.

For the Taylor Wires, if you need the extra length (`11"), the truck wires are

79x05 10.4mm 409
72x05 8mm Spiro
82x05 8.2mm Thunder Volt

The x is the color, black is 0. Red is 2, Blue is 6.

If you don't need extra length (~8"),

79x03 10.4mm 409
82x03 8.2mm Thunder Volt

Didn't see a Spiro number for the 5.7L.

Huh...didnt even realize the "X" was for the color. I guess I didnt read the page enough... Good summary of the part numbers tho!
