Awesome car! Just wondering why after keeping the engine bay so clean you exposed the fuel lines by putting them on the back of the tank? You used very nice braided lines but it still takes away from the rear of the car. Did you intend on this or was it an accident? Just wondering.

Ok, I didn't want the car to have a "street rodder" look like the old car. I wanted it to have a more "track car" look and attitue.
If you look at the interior it sorta follows this theme as well. There's a sheet metal guage cluster in the center and a switch panel to run everything. the factory colum is gone and a racecar one is in it's place. It's not "spit and polish"
The engine bay, while nice, is 100% business. It's clean and empty because there is nothing in there except the bare minimum. It's function over form and is the most "show car" part of the car. But it's showy for its cleanlinest and not for it's bling. I felt the exposed fuel lines helped "un-street-rod" the car more and made you think "hmmm, I don't think this car is stock".
Nonetheless, If I had to change anything it would be to eventually has a Fuel Safe fuel cell to the car. Both for safety and asthetics. It would have to be wider though since I want to retain my 20+ gallon fuel capacity.
did any of that make sense? lol

It does make sense knowing that you were going for a "track look" and not a show car look. I hope I didnt make you mad I just didnt undertand that you were going for a road racer look. Again awesome car man!

Besides, if you build a car that EVERYONE likes then chances are that you didn't try to be very creative.
I apprecate all the opinions and thoughts. No car is perfect and each person would have done something differently.

Steve, was the panel over the core support custom made or bought? Is it sheet-metal?
I beg to differ....Z069 with Bad Penny's engine bay IS the perfect car.
I especially like the hood hinges in the '68.

Steve,
You forgot CBM Motorsports and of course Flash
Glad that everything made it back together in time. I cant believe how fast you rebuilt that motor. I think our next plans should be Spring Mtn racing.

Yea, we wanted the car on the road and we had an appointment for a shoot. I would love to try spring mountain once I get everything set-up. I just can go in the tripple digit months.. lol

These guys sell them as well (a dealer): http://www.detroitspeed.com/
And they work VERY well.. smooth as glass hood operation and the cam deal makes the hood very easy to adjust.
