Speartech

For anyone who will be taking on an LSx swap I HIGHLY recommend Speartech for their custom harnesses, PCM's and outstanding customer service.
  • John @ Speartech began answering my questions via email probably 1 year prior to me actually pulling the motor and beginning the project
  • John answered my questions over the phone and via email when working out the details of the custom harness I was about to purchase from him
  • John configured the PCM as I had requested (no vats, no air, no egr, etc. etc.)
  • John answered questions during the install process
  • After I forgot to tell John that the project car was originally a 4cy (I got the car running but tach was reading double). He had me send the PCM back to have the tach signal tweaked free of charge

Then came time for tuning and when my tuner got the Z up on the dyno he realized that he couldn't tune my PCM (message saying it was locked). I called John @ Speartech up on a Saturday afternoon requesting an unlock code so we could begin tuning. John returned my call later that day stating that Speartech does not lock PCM's and something else must be wrong. I assured John that no other party has come in contact with the PCM since he has had it, and all we were doing was trying to tune her on the dyno. What does John do?...................he has me send the PCM back to him, tests it, realizes something's definitely wrong......sends me another free of charge.

For all those diving into one of these swaps, I would highly recommend www.speartech.com for your engine harness and PCM.

i personally dont recommend going to John for Harnesses and computers.

I DEMAND THAT YOU DO!!!! hehe, just kidding. in all seriousness though there are several guys capable of puttin out custom harnesses and such, but no one can match Johns end product as well as his customer service. the guy is a total class act and knows exactly what is going on. i used him for my first LS swap and i know i will do many more. and john will ALWAYS be the one i call for harnesses and computers.

I second these opinions. John's service and vast knowledge is top-notch in the industry. His prices are competitive to boot. Honestly, I don't see a reason to go with anybody else.

I've dealt with some great companies before but Speartech has definitely offered me the best customer service thus far. When I called John on 4/28 (Saturday) and left him a message while trying to dyno tune the car, he called back just a few hours later.

When was the last time a business has called you back on your cell on a day when they're closed to try and fix an issue???

ditto Ditto DITTO

With John's custom harness and ECU work my motor fired on the first crank after sitting for 4 years. I emailed him some questions on a Sunday afternoon expecting to get an answer sometime on Monday. Checked the email before I went to bed Sunday night and his reply was already there. He has helped so many here on the forum, he definitely deserves consideration for anyones business that is doing a swap.

The best of the best. I tried to wire my harness and was having some issues with it. I ask John a few questions before even being a customer of his and he tried to answer and help me diagnose it. I ended up not having anything to scope some signals so I broke down and sent the harness to him. I got it back, hooked it up and it was ready to roll. He is a class act. He helps any and all. I will use him no questions ask again and reccommend him to all. Thanks, Josh

I haven't purchased a single thing from Speartech yet, but I most definitely plan to. My questions have been answered on 3 separate occasions, and all to satisfaction.

Although I'm still about 8 months out from my swap, I know who I'm calling :p

I will also recommend Speartech. I havent purchased anything from them as I made my own harness, but I did call with a simple question that they were nice enough to help me with...even though I wasnt a customer.

They seem like a stand up company and of all the harnesses out there, theirs seems to be top notch.

John has answered every question we have had, and he doesn't even ask if you are a customer or not. We just got our harness back from him the other day, and don't anticipate any trouble getting everything hooked up. He added the unusual lines we asked for, and everything is clearly labelled. John will always have our business. He did not try to sell us on anything, and did exactly what we asked him to do. The harness also showed up a week earlier than he had quoted, not bad at all.
