Nice work on the swap.
A nitrous 408 will be sick in that car plus you can probably run the stock hood.

i'm trying to talk the owner into putting two more mufflers on the thing to make it super quiet should add to the "what the hell !!" factor after pulling on someone !

i agree, the hood is a must !

well , got the edelbrock throttle body in today, and i thought it was a great deal ( about $300) since you get the tps and IAC included with the tb, only problem is the damn thing has a 4.2" inlet which makes it impossible to moutn a 4" hose to it and the throttle arm rubbed from the bottom on the water pump (slight grinding fixed that issue real fast).

also got the guages mounted on the roll cage , which now causes who ever drives the car to be completly unaware of what ever is in front and to the left of the car ( i'll post pics so you can see what i mean). most likely the guages will be relocated ( 3 of them) to a guage pod on the center of the dash , and the rest will go either on the halo bar ( where the rear view mirror used to be ) or to the location currently occupied by the streo head uint.

we finally started the car and checked for leaks, fan operation and what not. found that the oil pressure guage is reading a bit high ( 75 psi) , not sure if its a guage problem or an oil pump issue .

we should be starting the transbrake testing sessions real soon

next on the list :
-fabricate in intake tube and filter
-plug both breather vents on the vavle covers
-tune the car for N/A
-start plumbing the direct port
-start wiring all the n20 related gizmos and doodads

Nice! I just came across the ls1 evo vid on youtube and was wondering what all was in it. I can't wait to see what else you guys do to it. BTW do you have any track times with the old setup?

i guess its a no go on the "test drive "
fired the car up , and it seems fine ideling , but as soon as you load the car up ( put it in D and try to move) the car would die. guess its time to tune it again ( it was tuned for 8.5:1 compression , and now with the new pistons, its about 12:1 ).

another minor setback , is that the radiator has mysteriously vanished from the car and magically reappeared on the lsx mustang next to it ...... wonder how that happened ??
a new evo radiator should be here today , and hopefully , if the stars are aligned right , and the temprature and wind speeds are just right, and all the tarot cards read in our favor , azoooz will hook up hp tuners to the thing and tune it

You should really put a rubber cap on the vaccum port where that yellow dust cover is on. Those don't hold vaccum very well. Otherwise, looks awesome.

thanks for the tip mark, the plan is to connect the valley cover port to the intake cover breathers, that way when the evac system starts pulling vaccume , it would do so from all over the enging instead of one side.

back to the radiator, it seems to have mesteriously reappeared on the car again

took the car for a spin , but i guess there is something wrong with one of the sensors. the car will not rev under load. if its in nutural, it revs fine, but in gear or on the brakes , it almost seems that the pcm does not recognise any input from the throttle . the sensor is new- it came with the tb - but maybe there is some thing wrong with it or the harness. on a positive note, the transbrake works !

I don't know how old this is, but hasnt someone done an ls1 evo already on the net? I think this swap is awesome, those cars are pretty cool as far as interior and stuff goes!

so, azooooz (the owner) decided to finally tune the car. the direct port system is still not on the car, but it still needed to be tuned for idle and N/A power. so on went the little evo on the dyno , and stomp went the right foot on the gas
for some reason( probably the stupid quick silver shifter) the tranny went 1- 2- R !!

don't know if anything happened to the tranny , but just to be safe we took it out of the car and will be tearing it appart to see if there is any damage. we'll also be seeing what the a$$holes at tristar over here did to the tranny ; its suppsed to have borgwarner clutches and the transbrake installed correctly . we'll see what we done .

we took the tranny appart to check on it , and it was mechanically sound, but the a$$holes at tristar did it again; we specifically asked for borgwarner clutches to be put in , and instead they put in generic peices of crap instead ! they also f'ed up the transbrake install, where they left parts in and neglected a few build steps ( we provided them with the instructions for the transbrake). guess that explains the tranny acting up .

anyhow, the tranny will be put together the right way this time , and should be finished by sat. evening .

we put the tranny in , and after replacing the TPS ( turned out it was not reading right) took the car out for a spin. first off , the trans brake works! second, we need slicks

i guess we'll start pounding on it the next few days. and we should start the direct port install soon ( or at least start on the wiring ! )

thanks man, but you should read the updates

the blower and the blower motor are long gone, sold them at a profit. in place now is a hight compression 408 with (soon to be) a direct port system.

houston99 should be uploading the vids shortly
